Downtown Aurora lights up every holiday season, and this year Touché French Creole added a major highlight of its own. The restaurant took first place in the Downtown Aurora Window Decorating Contest, earning recognition for a hand painted installation that turned heads all month.
The winning design, created by Aurora artist Gin Ingram, features a winter cocktail surrounded by soft snowflakes. On November 24, Chef Keonte’ Tooles and Gin Ingram accepted the award at City Hall, where Mayor John Laesch presented the honor.
Aurora’s art scene is strong, and this project made that unmistakable. Touché sits at the center of a district known for history, dining, and landmark events. Featuring the work of an Aurora artist on the restaurant’s windows brings the neighborhood’s creativity to the street, giving downtown visitors a reason to pause, take a photo, and connect with the community around them. The installation also marks a proud moment for JH Hospitality Group, whose restaurants have consistently partnered with local artists.
Guests visiting Touché for brunch, dinner, or cocktails can view the winning windows through the holidays. The restaurant is only steps from the Paramount Theatre and a short walk across the bridge from Christkindlmarket, making it an easy stop during the busiest time of year.
Experience Touché this season and see why the Aurora community continues to celebrate its creative energy.
